We could be playing Sheffield United, Millwall and Southend next year, alp expecting a cup final at the OS

I don't care what the question is, but Terry Westley is never the answer

Stoneman - nobody cares what you think. You are a cunt.

Surely that Westley suggestion is just their cack-handed way of saying things could get a lot worse.

Be careful what you wish for, if you will.

I'm often surprised to see Antonio give up when chasing back. As you say, he provides more cover than some of the others, but he doesn't do enough for me.

The thing that struck me vs Arsenal was how high up the pitch Noble was playing from the off. I'd like to see him playing a little further up the pitch in general, but not away to Arsenal with Obiang out.

The other thing, and this has been evident for ages now, is the distance between our midfield/attack and our defence. I cannot think of any other team that makes so little effort to be compact.

It's a disastrous way to set up, has plainly been a factor in the goals we've been conceding since the end of last season and nothing has been done about it.

Irrespective of personnel, the cunts who run the club, the shithole we play in, etc, Bilic cannot escape responsibility for that.

very much agree with that. Antonio provides a bit of defensive cover and it was readily apparent how badly that went missing after halftime. ayew and lanzini also don't really contribute defensively, although I'm fine with lanzini staying forward as the attacking mid. under no circumstances can we afford 3 of them

Agreed. I think Fonte has improved. Obviously I saw his error the other night, but you can't sustain the kind of pressure we were without making mistakes.

What I struggle with is how we have not got more out of Ayew or Snodgrass.

Re: Exclusive: West Ham make contingency plans to replace Slaven Bilic if club lose to Swansea
There was no reason on past performance to overly doubt Fonte or Snodgrass.

Both were very good at former clubs.

I'm not as down on Fonte as some others. Snodgrass really hasn't looked like the same player who played well for Hull and Norwich.

Anyway on to the game tomorrow

How on fucking earth can they state beforehand that the manager will be situ until the end of the season !?!

They want to be seen as good considerate owners....but the real reason is they refuse to pay compensation out....

Its scandalous for them to support Bilic whatever happens

They have presided over a season of fuck ups after fuck ups....hopefully they too will bail out at the end of the season

Was under the impression that Reid himself said he preferred the left hand slot ?

Either way, with the midfield we have at the moment, wouldn't matter if we had Mooro and Beckenbauer at CB...

Indeed, but for my money he looked a lot more comfortable on the right side next to Ogbonna.

Reid generally played left side off Collins or Tomkins so well used to it.

Reid being moved to the left cb position to ACCOMODATE Fonte certainly didn't help.

Snodgrass was a good player at Hull and for Norwich.
Fonte won the European championship with Portugal these are not bad players.
Something goes wrong when we sign players they actually look worse they become unfit and forget what they supposed to do.
Why dont they film one of their training sessions and let's all see what really goes on.

Though Snodgrass was a good signing... up until Jan he had 8 goals and 13 assists... since then... fuck all... Fonte I have never been impressed with ... and certainly am not now...

Strange how Snodgrass has dipped in his performance since joining us. Fonte had a good season at Southampton but has failed to settle at all with us. Virgil Van Dijk is a brilliant skilful and pacy CB and they were an excellent partnership. But Fonte and Reid look uneasy together.

Agree totally. What concerns me is that if we beat Swansea, many will swing back to backing Bilic.

I was being generous, saying you're not alone in demanding & praising bad signings. Most on here were delighted to see Ayew join as well. And going back to Valencia, Carroll, Jarvis etc.

It doesn't make anyone right though. Awful signings, really bad decisions by the club. I can see why with the wrong mindset the club could end up with those players, but that's very different to supporting their decisions.

As you say a win pretty much ends the problem. I would say a draw is actually not a bad result either.

It is a flipping bad result, it's just not the worst result.

Plus I do agree that there is something going on that is turning our players to shit. I made this point months ago, name ONE player Bilic has improved? He didn't even rate Antonio so didn't play him until he had to.

There is something in the coaching/tactics/management that is facilitating these players to consistently underperform. Snodgrass did look okay to begin with and had a great season THIS SEASON with Hull.

There is something very toxic at our football club and it needs to be cut out.

Re: Exclusive: West Ham make contingency plans to replace Slaven Bilic if club lose to Swansea
I'm with you p, I totally get why we signed both snodgrass and fonte

And I think their respective failings are down to poor management. Snodgrass looked good in his first few games.
